Highlights of the first GeoPlaNet Joint Master semester #2One of the assignments required developing a widget application in IDL related to image processing and analysis. I had a lot of fun exploring the IDL language and designing interactive features, creating a relatively complex application in which a user can upload 12 images, crop out square sections of each, and use those as tiles for playing their customized version of the famous game 2048. In this Youtube video I provide a thorough tour of the application, and everyone is invited to experiment with it and contact me with remarks - the code is available at https://lnkd.in/dtqeNeiD and can be run on any computer using the open source Gnu Data Language.

Ch4 first half. It's using the game playgrounds to demo physics engine. I have a question regarding the templates and existing playground files.For instance where is the Hello, World text coming from in the original starter template? I watched a couple of tutorials on Finite State Machines(FSM) on youtube so that I could get started with them and use them as standard practice for my games from now on.Even though it is recommended to use them to make your code more organized, I only realised how useful they were once I STARTED to use them when creating something simple like basic enemy patrolling for this 2D platformer project of mine.I didn't really have to use them since it was a fairly simple scene with an enemy having a patrolling state and idle state alone.However, this concept proved to be INCREDIBLY useful. My code was way more organized and much more easier to debug.What could have been spaghetti code(which I would have, no doubt, spent hours on typing) for simple enemy idle and patrolling states, became much cleaner and isolated code files for each state, and so much simpler!Learning FSMs was time really well spent and I'm definitely going to use them from now on.You can check out my code by clicking on the link below:https://lnkd.in/dwzs5--k#gamedevelopment Outscal
